The XVIII Ordinary General Assembly of the Spanish Association of Physical Anthropology (Sociedad Española de Antropología Física, SEAF), which was held in Alcalá de Henares on 7th July 2009, has agreed to organise the 17th Congress of the SEAF in Barcelona, accepting the candidature presented by Prof. Daniel Turbón, a member of the Physical Anthropology Section of the Animal Biology Department of the Faculty of Biology of the Universidad de Barcelona. For this reason we have the pleasure of inviting you to participate in the aforementioned congress, which will take place in Barcelona from 2nd to 4th June 2011.
The sessions of the Congress will be held at the Faculty of Biology of the Universidad de Barcelona. The 17th Congress of the SEAF will give wide general coverage of the areas studied by Physical Anthropology, the root and origin of which are human evolution and biodiversity represented by the ramified trunk of the logo of the SEAF, which we the organisers of the 17th Congress have adopted with certain modifications referring to the event.
The scientific programme will include the following areas:
- Applied Anthropology (Public Health)
- Skeletal Anthropology and Palaeoanthropology
- Forensic Anthropology and Palaeopathology
- Human Population Dynamics
- The Genetic Diversity of Human Populations
- Primatology
- Somatalogy and Auxology

The price for registration on the 17th Congress of the SEAF will be 150 € (90 € for those providing proof of being students) or 165 € as from 1st December 2010.
